Legs/Back Week 12

Last resistance workout of Round 1. I was pretty beat doing it but finished strong. I do have to take lots of little breaks during that workout such it really pushes you cardio wise and the more the heart is going the harder it is to pump out the reps. I will do Ab ripper tonite at work cause I gave everything to that workout. I now have all my beginning weights and reps and my final ones and will post them for the improvement comparisons. Tomorrow will get up some pics and do Kenpo. ONLY 8 DAYS LEFT!!

Yoga

I did the first half of Yoga today. That is the hard and intimidating part. I simply didn't have the focus to get through the stretching. I have got legs & back tomorrow before work.

Back and Biceps

I was lazy yesterday morning and didn't get up and do my workout. So I made that my rest day and just have to pump out 12 workouts and be finished. Today I did Back and Biceps after work. I upped some of my weights and pumped out more pullups. I also finished up with a modified ab ripper. Trying to get a better burn in the abs. I got a better one when I used the ab straps so I did that again today and some of the ripper with a 12.5 lbs weight instead of the 7.5 lbs one. I have a short 8 hour day I will head home and hit up Yoga. Looking forward to it. I am not going to let it get into my head this time and will crush it.

Last Plyo of the Round

Plyo was hard today. I have had a wild hair in my rear yesterday and today and have did lots of projects around the house. After about 6 hours of work today I did Plyo. It is pretty warm outside today and that really made it tough. I got it done though. I get to get up tomorrow morning before work and hit up some back and bi's.

Chest/Shoulder & Tris Week 12

Had a friend man up with me today and do the workout. It went really good. Busted my butt. I also got 10 one-arm pushups. 5 each arm. Only got 5 total 2 weeks ago. Also I did Ab Ripper with 4 lbs ankle weights and for some other exercises I used a 7.5 lbs weight on my chest. I am putting a plastic coating on 2 12.5 lbs weights. Eventually I will be using one of them for the Ab Ripper.

Last Day of Week 11/Kenpo X

It's crazy to think I only have 2 weeks left. I felt good today but sore. My legs not so much. They usually are really sore from yesterday but my abs are pretty sore. I watched ab ripper and used my ab straps hanging from the pullup bar and did a ab workout. I started it with 8 lbs ankle weights on and about half way through I took them off. I felt like I was dogging it but I was exhausted. And today I know I worked hard cause I am really sore. I need to keep doing abs with weights to make the muscles bigger so they are more likely to be seen when the fat disappears.

Today I did Kenpo and wore 4 lbs ankle weights and started it holding 5 pound dumbells. I did the first 5 or so exercises and realized that 5 lbs was way too much. So I grabbed my powerblock inserts which weigh 2.5 lbs each. I held onto them the whole workout except for 2 exercises. My arms were toast from hanging onto the 5 lbs ones and needed a short rest. Using the extra weights really upped the intensity and got a great sweat going.

A friend of mine is coming by tomorrow and we are going to hit a cardio workout. Not sure what we will do but will let you all know. By the way my rest day is tomorrow and I will get pics up. Hopefully there will be some decent changes between these and 2 weeks ago.

Legs/Back

63 PULLUPS!! I beat last week by 10.5 pullups. I only have next week to try to reach my goal of 100, which I won't but I am really happy to see this improvement. I had not been going up that many for about a month so today was awesome. I was dying by the end of this workout. I am borderline dizzy. My brain needs glucose, so I didn't do Ab Ripper. I will do it tonite. I need my Orange Chocolatey Delight. My pregnant wife did the leg portion of the workout with me so that was cool. I am really looking forward to her not being pregnant so we can workout together.

Week 11 Yoga

Just got done with Yoga and I could tell that I haven't did it in 2 weeks. It was really hard and I was feeling it everywhere. I toughed through it and it felt great. My flexibility is doing great too. At the start of the program I could only get to about 6 inches to my toes. Now I can hold the Yoga block against my foot and reach and hold onto that. That is about 2-3 inches past my foot. Like a 9 inch improvement.

Arms/Shoulders Week 11

Just finished up. That is a good workout but it really is just for Shoulder, Bis and Tris. It isn't like the legs and back workout where I also get in a cardio workout. But I feel the pump and I will be sore for sure tomorrow. I am just doing my Abs routine on cardio days this week so I don't work them back to back. So that means tomorrow will suck cause I have Yoga and in Yoga there is something called Yoga Belly 7. It is a ab routine. It is at the end of Yoga. Then I will crush Ab Ripper and again use the weights on my chest. That should get the burn going.

Plyo And Ab Ripper Week 11

Just finished Plyo and proud to say I completed it 100% and kept up with those in the DVD. I am f-ing dead. Then I had to do Ab Ripper to make up for yesterday. Then I got a wild hair up my butt and decided to add weight to my ab routine. I added 10 lbs to 4 of the 11 exercises by holding a 7.5 lbs plate and a 2 foot chain on my chest. I will have to get some ankle weights to wear for the rest of the exercises.

Woke up today at an all time low. Down to 206.6. That is a 20 lbs weight loss so far. I am pretty pumped. Hopefully it keeps falling off and I hit 200 by the end.

Week 11 Chest/Back

Just finished the workout and I am dead. Everytime I do that workout I can barely do the cooldown at the end cause my upper body is so exhausted. I did develop a bad headache at the end of the workout so I didn't do ab ripper. I will do it tomorrow after Plyo.

Also I started the higher carb diet and lowered the calories just to change it up for the last 3 weeks. I will use this diet for the whole next round anyway cause iI don't want to damage the kidneys. Need to hit up the recovery drink. I have this 15 minutes after every weight lifting workout and the really hard workouts like Plyo. Here is it if you are interested.

Glass of water.
1 scoop of powered Orange Gatorage
1/2 scoop of powered Tang (yup ripping it old school)
And 1/2 scoop of Chocolate whey protein

The scoop for the orange stuffs I use the one that comes in the Gatorade
And the scoop for the protein comes in the protein

This combination gives a 4 grams of carbs to 1 gram of protein ratio and is the current standard for energy replacement

Kenpo and End of Week 10

Just finished Kenpo. I am sweating my butt off. I only have three weeks left till the end of Round 1 of P90X. Then I will start up another with a friend of mine about a week after that. That will be sweet. Will be nice to have someone next to you most days pushing yourself harder.

I think I am going to switch up the diet the last three weeks. Going to drop calories a couple hundred and add some carbs. It is the second phase nutrition program. The %'s are 40% carbs, 40% protien, and 20% fat. So I will try that for the last three weeks and see what happens. It is a healthier way to do it. One doesn't want to stay in low carb high protien for too long cause it can damage your kidneys. So I will mix it up and really be strict the last three weeks with the nutrition and bust my butt on the workouts and see how it goes.

No pics again this week. The wife is out of town and took the camera. But here are updated measureables.

Weight - 228 now down to 209.6
BF - 21% now down to 12.7%
Waist at belly button. 35.5 inches (today) down from 36 inches (measured two week ago)

Legs/Back Week 10

Well I skipped Yoga yesterday. That damn first 45 minutes is so intimidating I simply never started it. Bad Byron. Then it got worse. I was busy the end of my shift at work so I didn't get to eat for like 5 hours. That is missing 2 meals. Needless to say I was starving and the longer I don't eat the worse things (healthy wise) I crave. So I did make it home and eat chicken. But then I found the wife's food stash and it was all downhill from there. Dare I list what I ate? I better. This is all about accountibility and God knows I'm not perfect.

Pepporoni Personal Pan Pizza
3 Breadsticks

Wow! Talk about binging. LOL. Needless to say I felt like crap went I finally went to bed.

I didn't want to workout today. I have had this abdominal pain come on daily for maybe the last 4 days. It comes for maybe an hour and a half and they goes away. Not sure what that is. But the pain went away today and I crushed my workout. My pullups total went up. Over 50, 52 I think, I don't have the paper in front of me. Have to get ready for work.

Back and Biceps Week 10

Just knocked out Back and Bi's. I was pumped to hit up Biceps. That damn workout though. Can't do another pullup after the first set cause then you hit the biceps and then they are too weak to hit another. I worked 6am-6pm so that was a change up for me. I normally work afternoon night's so I can get my workout in early. I am usually less motivated to come home and bring it. I did tonight. I did not want to hit up the Ab ripper after back and biceps but grueled through it. Getting really close to getting in all the reps. I get through all of them now except my hip flexors fail in the middle of the 2nd set of bicycles and in the middle of crunchy frog. I get the rest of the reps now but can only get 40 mason twists. Getting close to getting them all though. Soon.

Looking forward to the upcoming pics and stats from mono and big lloyd. And, yes, I will keep bringing them up until I see them. Anyone else coming close to a 30 day milestone get your stats and pics up too.

Oh and I brought the work belt in another notch. That is three total now. And I do only wear them so they are comfortable. Not just to get another notch. I have been testing another notch for about two weeks now and then I would find a position or after I ate that I would have to loosen it again. But today I rocked it down one notch and never did get uncomfortable.

Damn I can ramble after a workout. The adrenaline is rollin.

And is anyone else PUMPED for the NFL Draft. I love it!! I am a Buffalo Bills Fan and will be watching it. Hopefully I am not busy my last three hours at work so I can watch it. I am thinking about pushing all my workouts back a day so I can come home and watch it. It is only once a year anyway.

PLYO Week 10

Today didn't go as well as last week but still went good. I woke up with sore legs. Still. So I took some ibuprofen and me and a buddy crushed some plyo. He is in good shape and he was hurting. Made it through though and worked his butt off. The next four days should suck cause I have to work for all of them. Then come home and workout. And I have a NFL draft to watch on top of that. Will be busy. The wife is leaving Sunday for three days. Not much to report. Finished up laundry today and did a bunch of healthy food shopping. Should be stocked up for a while. Well veggies will be gone in a week but good on the rest. I'm hungry. Off to eat 2 slices of whole grain bread with natural peanut butter.

Chest/Shoulder & Tris Week 10

I am getting crazy close to being done. Less than 4 weeks left. Workout went well today. My legs are still unusually sore today. And my forearms are too? That legs/back workout kicked my ass. I love it. Have been doing Cleaning X today. Vacuuming, dishes, laundry. Hope that makes the wife smile. I was trying to get a third one-arm pushup with my left today and my arm failed. I crashed to the floor and hit my nose. It hurt pretty well.

Tomorrow is some PLYO. Love it. That workout is so f-ing hard. Have a new victim tomorrow. I like showing new people what its all about. I am going to hit that hour so hard. I don't want this soreness to go away until I hit legs/back again so I can be sore for a whole week.

I got up yesterday and totally spaced out the pictures. So none this week. Maybe I will get some of Plyo tomorrow. And my buddy was bitching about not seeing the end table I changed so I will get that in there too.

Cardio X

I started doing Yoga but quit about 20 minutes in. Hard to do that when I work the night before. Really tough to concentrate on a weird night of sleeping. So I popped in the Cardio X DVD and rocked it out. Really got the sweat going. My legs are just crying today from the Legs & Back workout. I really upped the weights and am paying for it today.

Legs/ Back/Abs

Workout didn't go as well as planned. I think I may have worked out too soon after eating. I was burping up milk for most of the workout. YUK. My legs portion went well but my pullup numbers were down a couple. Just didn't have it today. My first couple of sets I upped my reps but then some sets I couldn't quit get to the last workout's #'s. I didn't do Abs yet cause of the milk nausea. I will bring the DVD and crush it tonite at work. Then will do Yoga tomorrow to make up for the other day. Some more pics tomorrow. Stayed tuned.

Catch Up Posts

I did Shoulders And Arms on Friday and it went really good. The powerblocks make it so much smoother and quicker. I love em. I don't quite get the bicep burn the next day though when compared to Back and Biceps DVD. I did get some but I still enjoy the workout. I jacked up the weight in all exercises and may have to jack them up some more.

My wife's parents came over on Friday and stayed the night so we could go to her sister's surprised B-day party Saturday. So I used my rest day yesterday cause they were here. My diet fared pretty good on Friday but I did drink that night. Then yesterday it went to shit. I just decided that these days will happen when it is hard to eat healthy when I am not at home. Now I just have to get used to not drinking as heavily when I am with the wife's family. Will be a hard habit to break. But I am back at the diet today. Instead of doing Yoga today, cause of the mini hangover, I did Kenpo. Figured that workout would be better cause my head is a little fuzzy and you really need to focus and concentrate for Yoga. I have Legs & Back tomorrow and ready to crush some pullups. Probably my favorite workout. It kicks your but cardio wise because it keeps a really fast pace and gets a great pump in too.

PLYO

Week 9 Plyo. I couldn't wait to tackle the PLYO Monster today. I was hiding under HIS bed last night. Breathing, just breathing. I would hear him whimper under his covers. This was the first time I tackled it without, what I call Victims. No one to workout with so I was a little intimidated cause we all know it is easier to bring it if you are trying to do better then the person next to you. Well I didn't need that motivation today cause I crushed it. I would say I completed 95% of the workout at the DVD's pace. And anyone who has tried it, That's F-ing tough! I worked out in the garage again. My neighbors might think I'm crazy. I'm going to stay off the scale for the whole week. See if my diet is working. I am 11 pounds away from my 28 pound weight loss goal. I picked 200 lbs and 11% BF when I started. I am 211 and 14.6% BF.

Chest/Back Week 9

I haven't did that workout in 5 weeks. It was good to get back to but I forgot how hard it was. But I made some big progress. Last time I did it I could only do 4, yeah I know, 4 pullups without in a chair in the 6 sets. Today I did 22 unassisted. Tho e numbers aren't that impressive cause like the back and biceps workout this one works secondary muscles and that brings down my pullup #'s. So looking forward to the Legs & Back where hopefully I make big jumps on the #'s and make my goal of 100 pullups. Ab Ripper went pretty good today too. As usual the beginning is hard for me on my hip flexors and I have to take a rest or 2 for a couple seconds but I made it the whole rest of the way. I also did all the reps on the last exercise without stopping for the first time.

So got the dreaded Plyometrics tomorrow and looking forward to it. I am looking to crush it.

Week 8 Done!

Just finished Yoga. Best session yet. My buddy came over and did Yoga the other day and he manned up and did pushups in the middle of it the whole time. I hadn't yet tried it but I manned up today to spite him and it was awesome. I got my knees way up off the ground in upward dog and did the pushups. My flexibility is the best its been since high school. It may already be back to that point. Kind of hard to remember how good it was. But I can bring my nose back down to my knee when reaching for my toes.

Also like I said I upped my calories to 2500-2600 and today I weighed in at 211.4 lbs. That is probably due to the 3.5 hours of hanging shelves yesterday but I will see if the weight stays off.
I will recheck the body fat, weight and post some pics tomorrow.

Core Syn Week 8

Workout went really good today. I've decided that I am going to up my calories again and see if that helps me lose some weight. I have stayed about the same the last two weeks. So I will up them about 300 and see what happens. Then made some shelves today and cleaned and reorganized the garage. I also converted an old endtable into a stand for my powerblocks for the summer.

X Stretch

Got up yesterday and did Kenpo before work. Didn't get my post in but not much to report. I just finished X Stretch. Tomorrow is Core Syn again and then I think I am going to go for a bike ride and enjoy this weather. Just three more days to the end of month 2. I will have five more weeks after that as the last phase is 5 weeks. The others were four.

Core Syn

All done with the workout. It was really hard. Don't have much energy today. Not sure if it is the low carb diet or just one of those days. I did eat lunch and that gave me a boost but now I'm beat again. I suppose I should be since I just finished working out. I'll have to double check but I think I have Kenpo tomorrow and will get up and do it before work. Then work 9A-9P.

2nd Recovery Week

The recovery weeks are weeks designed to let your muscles get a break and rebuild. There is no weight training for this week. Today was Yoga. I had a buddy come over and do the workout with me. Sucks cause I figured I would show off how flexible I was, but he could pretty much do everything I could. Ass. Tomorrow is Core Synergystics which will be cool cause I haven't did that workout in a month and there are alot of new workouts on that DVD. So the workout is fun.

Only 6 weeks left. Kenpo went good and I did Ab Ripper after cause I didn't get it done last night at work. Ab Ripper went good. I again tried for 25 reps and got close but that is damn hard. Will put up some pics later tonite.

Legs/Back

Workout didn't go very well today. Well I did up weight in all the exercises I use them and my pullup #'s went up but I had to pause it numerous times. I was on the verge of vomiting almost the entire workout. Note to self: DO NOT EAT EGGS BEFORE WORKING OUT. I think that was the problem because nothing else has been different. Unassisted pullups went up from 41 to 49. My goal of 100 for this workout seems a ways away but I have 4 more times with this workout and I up my totals around ten so if I push it I may hit 100. That would be sweet. I didn't do Ab Ripper right after. I started it but the nausea was too bad so I didn't think I would get the most out of it. I will do it tonite at work. I went for 25 reps last time and will attempt it again. Playing with the big boys now. Hopefully by the end I will be using weights on my chest while doing the workout. Yoga Week 7

Yoga went great today. Best session yet. I really didn't want to do it but was able to focus and it went really well. My flexibility is improving every week. I am about to go finish stabilizing the pullups bar. Two more days this week then on to the recovery week. Looking forward to do Core Synergystics again. But I do know I will miss the weight lifting that week.

Back and Bis Week 7

Heyo. Me and a buddy hung up the pullup bars in the garage today. I had to go back to the hardware store because I didn't buy enough long screws to mount the bars. Then I had to go back again cause I needed more 2 X 4's to make some braces. Then we realized we only bought enough bolts to secure one of the braces. Fuck. So anyway we completed one of them and I need to put on the braces to the other ones. They work awesome. It will be nice working out there in the heat. After we installed them we did the Back and Biceps workout. That workout is still killer. Can't even do pullups a couple exercises in because your biceps are done that soon. Also I did go out and buy the PowerBlocks. They ROCK. Guy sold them to me brand new $30 off cause the store is going out of business. I didn't workout yesterday so I used it as my rest day cause I was up all night at work. Don't you just hate it when you can't sleep at work. Just kidding, but seriously. Now I have to tough through 10 days of workouts in a row. I really brough it today on Ab Ripper. I pushed for all 25 reps but couldn't quit get it on all the exercises. Most of the I did.

Week 7 Plyo

That was pretty hard today. My friend who tried it the first time made it through. She didn't want to but I wouldn't let her quit. She did good for her first time. As always the next time is easier. Really going to bring it this week cause next week is my recovery week and no more weights. :( I like the weight training. But that will give me time to give in and buy my PowerBlocks. It'll be sweet. On Saturday probably I'm going to install the pullup bars in the garage. I am looking forward to that too. I think that will be really cool. I am really sore today. Almost everywhere. Oh well, get over it.

Week 7 Chest/Shoulders/Tris

Finally I feel that that workout went well. It was still hard but it felt successful. I pumped out 3 one arm pushups for each arm after only getting 3 with one and 1 with the other last week. I upped weights in some of the exercises too. I went out with a buddy yesterday and bought some supplies to install 2 homemade pullups bars in the garage. That will be a good place to do some workouts with anyone who wants to join this summer. I will install them on Friday. I think they will turn out sweet. It will be nice to workout outside this summer in the heat and really get the sweat going. My scale fetish has continued. I am down to 215 after starting at 228. I checked my measurements and body fat the other day and though my waist and hips are smaller my body fat is less than a % smaller if it has changed at all in the last 2 weeks. For this reason I am switching back to the fat burner method for the last 45 days to maximize body fat loss. I am going to keep my calories up but go back to low carbs. 30% carbs/50% protien/20% fat.

Want to quick list my goals since I haven't yet though I know what they are from the start.

Get down to 200 lbs.
From 21% BF to 11% Currently at ~16%
Be able to do 100 unassisted pullups in one workout. Currently at 41. Beginning was 17.

I have another victim coming to try out Plyo tomorrow. Poor thing doesn't know what she is gettting herself into. HAHA

Kenpo and End of Week 6

I'M HALFWAY DONE!! 45 days down and 45 to go. Did kenpo today and it went pretty good. I wore my long sleeved workout jacket and kept it on the whole workout. I poured sweat for the hour. I keep saying that I am going to add ankle and wrist weights for the last month. Thinking about that just scares me. I always for how hard that DVD is about halfway through till I get my second wind. But I will check them out and try to find some. Day 45 pics to come tomorrow.

Legs/Back Week 6

I am beginning to love this workout and from the first week it was my least favorite. I am still not to the reps with the leg exercises that the DVD is but I am getting very close to them. And I was a bit scared to do this workout again due to the fact, if you remember, I doubled my pullups last week. Last week I did 32 without a chair in 8 sets and today I did 41 total in the 8 sets. I did get close to bonking halfway through the workout because I think I waited too long after eating. I simply made up a recovery drink, which is powdered tang and gatorade, and finished strong. I am making big jumps in pullups in this workout but am only doing a little more in the other one. I think that is due to the separate muscle groups though. My other pullup workout this week has biceps as the other muscle group so it affects my pullups #'s, but with today being legs it has no impact and I really last much longer.

Again it is great to here from all of you about how you are seeing yourself make more healthy choices with your food and wanting to get out there and exercise after seeing what I am doing. And those who are ordering the program and getting started it is awesome cause knowing you are doing it to will keep me from slacking off. To be honest this week has been harder to keep going but I did.

Yoga Week 6

Yoga didn't go that well today. I just couldn't get into it. I did stick to it though and do the whole 1.5 hours. I tried talking myself into quiting 3-4 times, but stuck with it. It ended alot better than it started though. Also my belt for work went another notch tighter this week. Now it is one notch smaller than when I started my job two years ago. Sweet. I am going to weigh in next Tuesday and recheck my body fat and measurements just to make sure that upping the calories is keeping the fat burning. If not I will so back to the low carb diet. I know the weight it lower but wondering about the fat.

I did alot of research and went to go out and buy adjustable dumbells. I have twist lock ones and it takes a fair amount of time to switch weights in between exercises. This adds on about 15 minutes to my 1.25 hour workout. I decided I am going to get the power blocks kind but they will set me back 379 bucks. Ouch. I told myself from the beginning that I would get them for myself after I finish the 90 day program but am having trouble waiting.

Week 6 Chest Shoulders Tris Abs

After this week I will be half done. Again my workout kicked my butt, but I think I held my own. I did better than last week and also Abs went as good as they ever have. I even pumped out 3 one arm pushups with my Right arm and 1 with my Left. And that exercise is 3/4 into the workout. I also have been addicted to the scale the last couple of days but it is just getting better everytime I get on it. Last Friday when I got on I had lost 2 more pounds for a total of 7 and then today I got on and had lost 3 more. So I have lost 10 pounds as of this morning in 5 weeks. And keep in mind I have started eating 500 more calories a day this last week than I did the first month. The first month I ate 2000 and this last week I eat 2400 -2500 and am losing weight even faster. AWESOME. I am pretty much eating all day. I eat every 2 hours. Now my body is starving if I wait 3 hours to eat. My body is primed for metabolism. Burn baby burn.

Week 5 Pics and Yoga







I haven't did Yoga yet but will in about a half hour. Here are the new pics. Finished Yoga and it was the best session yet. My flexibility is really improving. I'm really relaxed now. I have had low back tightness for the last three days and it is completely gone.

I took my math placement test and did well enough that I don't have to take a college math class. Thank god. I haven't seen those equations today since High School. Got registered for my 2 classes I will be taking this summer to get ready for the Nursing Program next summer.

Kenpo End of Week 5

Kenpo went pretty well today. I don't have much to say about Kenpo just a bunch of kicking and punching. Will do some pics tomorrow cause tomorrow is rest day. I tried to register for school today but I have to take a math placement test. Stupid. I will have to run out there tomorrow after the pics and then come home and do Yoga to make up for the other day. First goal for the 90. 1. Do not miss a single workout. So far so good.

Legs/ Back/Abs Week 5

Felt pretty crappy yesterday so I decided to use that as my rest day. Feel better but some of the cold is still around today. I crushed Legs/Back/Abs. I had to pause many times cause I brought myself to the point of nausea but I gave it my all. Lets compare pullup #'s from the last Legs/Back workout.

2 weeks ago - 17 pullups without chair in 8 sets and 52 with chair in 8 sets
Today - 34 without chair in 8 sets and 43 with chair in 8 sets

Don't know what got into me but I could just keep doing pullups today. Feels good after my poor performance a couple days ago when I didn't feel as good.

Also felt like hopping on the scale this morning and I have lost 2 more pounds since Monday. And that is with adding 500-600 calories everyday this week. I will stay off it as long as I can until Day 60. I will move Yoga that I should have did yesterday to Tuesday which should be my rest day so I will not miss a workout simply move my rest day.

Did pretty good with abs today. Got back up to 22 reps on almost every exercise. Once I can do all 22 for every exercise I will try to do all 25 reps like they do.

Back And Biceps

Sick today. I have had a heavy chest in the morning when I woke for the last week and it would go away when I started moving around. But yesterday I woke up and did Plyo and then the Head Cold stayed around all day. I feel a tad better then last night at work but still like shit. I did try to push through the workout though. I didn't get the intensity I usually get but did get the workout in. At least next week I will know where I stand for weight and reps and crush it next week. Did get a great pump for the biceps but the pullups were pretty bitchy to be honest. I switched up the form for the pullups like they do in the video. Did get though ab ripper too, but not the reps I usually do about 18 today instead of 22. I will chill today and pump the meds and hopefully kick this bitch sickness soon.

Plyo WEEK 5

Good to be back to Plyo. Honestly I was intimidated to try it after struggling yesterday. But I crushed it. I only modified maybe 2 exercises and that was for 15 sec each tops. Russ came over and gave it a shot and it whooped his ass. I LOVE IT! He did do the whole thing with no breaks though his first time. Impressive. I sweat my butt off. It was kind of gross. New DVD tomorrow and looking forward to it. Getting the PUMP going for my Biceps is my favorite. I love when they feel HUGE.

Chest/Shoulder & Tris

That workout sucked. I know it was harder but I felt soo weak doing those exercises. The slow 4 count pushups. Take 4 seconds to go down and 4 to go up. They are killer and they are the first exercise. Not sure if it is because I haven't lifted weight in a week or the DVD is that much harder and works your muscles in that much a different way. And if that isn't hard enough about 22 exercises later you do 1 arm pushups. I did 5 each arm. On my knees, lol. I figured I could get one regular one but wanted to get reps in to get the burn out.

Then was Ab Ripper and it was brutal today. I upped my reps from 20 to 22 for each of the exercises. (There are 11 total) I had to take alot more mini pauses in the middle of my reps but I did get them all in.

Perspective

Just wanted to post some more numbers. I don't like saying, oh well, I lost 5 lbs and 4% Body Fat.

When calculating the changes, on Day 1 I had 47.8 lbs of fat and 180 lbs of lean muscle. On Day 30 I have 36.5 lbs of fat and 186.3 lbs of lean muscle.

So I have lost 11.3 lbs of fat and gained 6.3 lbs of muscle in thirty days!!

Cardio X

Glad I finished that. Worked overnight last night and the night just dragggged on and on. Slept until 3 this afternoon and the last thing I wanted to do was workout. But my wife hopped on the treadmill and I took that as a polite way of saying "Get off you ASS" Now new tougher workouts this week.

Day 30!!! New Pics/Measuresments


Day 30! Awesome. 1/3 of the way to 90 days. And after my measurements I am reenergized to hit it even harder.

Day 1 - 228 lbs and 21% Body Fat
Day 30 - 223 lbs and 17% Body Fat

I am going to up my calorie intake from 2000 to 2600 for the next month and see how that works. It is what the program says to do. I actually should have been eating that many calories the last month but my stubborn ass thought you can't eat and lose weight. Well you can as long as you are eating the right things. So I am upping the calories and it should be easier cause I get to eat carbs again. The ratio of my diet is 40% carbs/40% protien/20% fat. And the %'s are in calories.

Also today is a rest day cause I picked up a shift at work last night and have to work again tonite. I will do a cardio day tomorrow and than start Phase II. The next 30 days. WooWoo. This next 3 weeks will be insane. The Chest/Shoulders/Tris DVD has some crazy hard stuff like One-Arm Pushups. Ouch!

Well my next 30 day goal. 218 lbs and 13% Body Fat. In other words, halfway to a brick shithouse.

Yoga Week 4

Day 29 Done. Yoga went well. Tomorrow doing an extra day like I said and looking into changing up the diet. I am going to try to up my calories by at least 400-600. Yikes. That seems like a bunch but I need to try it. Should be easier with consuming more carbs. Yay, carbs are back. Moving from 1 carb a day to 3-4. We will see. I will look at the nutrition guide tonite and figure it out. Gotta go, have to change some oil.

Core Syn II Week 4

Had to work all day and did not feel like working out at all. Besides the other morning this is the first time that has happened since starting. But I started and sweat my butt off. Really pushed it. Got Yoga tomorrow and then it should be the end of week for, but I am extending the week by one day to change it so my rest day falls on Tuesday since I work over night every Monday and feel I am not getting all I can out of those workouts. So I will do an extra day of Cardio on Monday. Get to try a new DVD Cardio X. Also new pics on Monday, weigh-in and recheck the body fat. I have been telling myself I hope it is a 4% drop but am only guessing but will probably still be disappointed if it isn't. I have realized I don't care if I haven't lost weight. What I need to lose is the fat.

Got up this morning and did the workout before work. Didn't really want to and made an excuse in my head that I didn't need to do it, heck, it's only streching. Once that excuse popped into my head I popped out of bed. NO EXCUSES. Procrastinating got me this fat and doing it will only make me stay that way.

Core Syn

Today was core synergystics. A crazy workout. Pretty much every move was something I have never done or seen before so it was fun. Couldn't push it as hard as I would have liked because I am learning the moves but in 2 days I get to do it again and BRING IT. This DVD is hard. It really gets the heart pumping. No more chatting. Today is my productive day. I have 5 more things on my list. Half Done!

Yoga Week 4

I get to do Yoga twice this week. Today was the best Yoga day yet. I was able to hold all the holds except the last set which Tony-(the trainer on the DVD) says are advanced poses. Not much to report. I get to do a new CD tomorrow, which I keep mentioning cause I am pretty excited. It looks really hard. Going to check out a movie tonite and get up early tomorrow, Bring It for the workout and get my list of shite to do knocked out. Change oil in the cars, fill out a lot of paperwork for work, and get some grocery shopping done. Need more milk and veggies.

Legs/ Back/Abs

Damn that is a hard workout. I isn't getting easier but I did up most of my reps.

Last week 12.5 pullups without chair and 52 with. Today I did 17 without and 52 with. Pretty nice upgrade in one week.

Sucked getting up this morning though. I didn't get up until 10 to 7 though. Talked my wife into leaving an hour later. Yes!

Yoga X Week 3

A really good Yoga session tonight. I did one pose that I have not been able to do before and did hold crane for maybe 5 seconds. That is really hard. Really relaxed now. Just going to chill and finish watching the Bills complete the greatest comeback in NFL playoff history on NFL Network. We are going out of town tomorrow so I have to get up at 5am on my day off to do my Legs and Back workout. Ouch. But gotta do it.

Just thought I would share with you guys and gals a motivational saying that I am using to get through this 90 days.

"Have you ever did something truly difficult?"

Not sure where I heard it or where it came from. It popped in my head on the third day of the program when I was kind of having a bad day and feeling sorry for myself. I then realized. I haven't. I haven't did finished anything that I would consider truly hard. Something that took real dedication to finish. So there it is.

Week 3 Shoulders/Arms/Abs

That workout was great. I think it felt like my best one yet. I upped most of my weights, about 85% and even would need some again next time. To bad I don't get it for over a month. Also the Ab Ripper. I did the best I have thus far in the program. And to think the last think I wanted to do after working 6A-6P was come home and work out.

It is really cool that people are listening to me blab about this and get their asses off the couch too. You know who you are. Keep at it. The first couple weeks will suck. And I mean really suck if you push yourself. But it will get to the point that you will be disappointed in yourself when you miss a workout. And that IS a good thing.

Well I have Yoga tomorrow. I am pushing for a 20 second crane pose. Look it up. HARD.

Week 3 Plyo

Crushed plyo today. I did though whole time today as opposed to pacing myself. It felt good. Sweat my butt off. That workout is still brutal but got through it. It is nice to know I can at least do it as long as them in the DVD but as I get better cardio I will be able to mimic their intensity.

Week 3 Chest/Back/Abs

Got to go to our 20 week ultrasound today. That was pretty cool. It took probably twice as long as it should have cause the baby was camera shy. It was pretty funny. See would find its face and just before she would take the picture it would turn away. It did it over and over again. Pretty cool and scary stuff.

Well worked overnight last night and slept most of the day. Went to the ultrasound and came home and Brought It. I was on the edge of nausea for about the last 20 minutes. I pushed it hard.

I did a total of 4 pullups without a chair and 47 with one. A total of 104 various pushups.

Last workout I did 2 pullups without a chair and 48 with one. A total of 85 various pushup.

There are also a lot other exercises that do not fall into the two catagories. Flys and other stuff. So I am see progress. I am going to adjust my pullups with the chair. Right now I put it about 4 feet away from me and stretch and put one foot's toes on it and do pullups that way. I am not sure if that is changing the angle enough and not focusing on my back as much as it should. I am not sure cause looking at the pics my back is where I see most of the results. Also my stomach from the side has straightened out more than it was.

Ab ripper didn't go as well as I wanted due to that borderline nausea. I paused a couple of times but did get in all my reps. When I was done laying on my back I could see the top 2 abs. I don't remember the last time that was. I could feel the 2nd set too and pretend I saw them. From there on down way too much fatness. Its getting better!!

This is my last week of normal workouts and next week is a recovery week. I do Yoga twice, a new CD -Core Synergystics, twice, and some other cardio stuff I think. Looking forward to mixing it up. But sucks that it is changing cause after going up in all my numbers today I just want to do this exercise next week and crush the numbers again.

Rest Day and Pics

Well I weighed in today even though the program suggests against it. I was curious. I wish I wouldn't have. I weighed 227.2. I have lost only 0.6 lbs in 2 weeks. That sucks. The program says most won't lose any weight the first month due to the muscle gains, but I figured I would have at least lost something somewhat substantial. Why do we all need that f-ing scales approval.

Well I compared the pics to last weeks and there may be some differences. Let me know what you see.

I am loving this Rest day. Nice to take a day off after 9 workout days in a row. I have to work tonight and then back at it tomorrow. Can't wait. Looking forward to more pushups and pullups and Ab Ripper X.

Kenpo End of Week 2

That is 2 weeks done. Kenpo went alot better this time. I was more used to the moves and was able to pretend I was hitting someone and swinging and kicking much harder as opposed to just doing the motions and that upped the cardio intensity alot. I will get up in the morning and take some pics and post them. Off to cook some chili-rubbed talapia and asparagus. YUM

Legs/Back/Abs Week 2

Did Legs and Back last night. That workout is brutal. Again it killed me. So many lunges. And wall sits with one leg. Christ I don't workout with my cape. Anyway did better with the pullups though. I did more with and without the chair then last week. Got some Kenpo tonite and more pics tomorrow. I want to get on the scale and see if it has changed but the program suggests weighing in after 30, 60, and 90 days so I will try to refrain. The work belt did tighten up one notch though so that's a start. I was wearing the belt there when I started my job almost two years ago and my fatness moved it up one. But I'm back baby.

Got up and did my Yoga at 545am so I could get it in before work. Most things got easier this week after doing them a second time but not Yoga. That thing kicks my butt. The yoga block I bought worked well. Well need to crash, I have to work at 6am. All this working is getting in the way of working out.

Arms/Shoulders/Abs Week 2

Didn't want to get out of bed today. Didn't want to do anything. But once I got through the warmup and the first set I pumped it out. I went up in weight in alot of the exercises and will need to go up in some more next week. I tried a new method in my ab workout so I can keep track of my progress. Before I was just doing as many as I could of each excercise. Now I limited myself to 17 (the DVD does 25) and was able to do all of the excercises. So in two days I will up that number to 20. I want to be even more maxed out. I don't want to be able to finish the set. Then I'll know I trying hard enough.

Have to work at 9am tomorrow and am going to get up around 545 to do Yoga. Let's see if I still love it when I am doing it that early.

PLYO Week 2

Plyometrics went pretty good today. Only paused the workout for about 2 minutes and only a short period of lightheadedness. This workout kicks your butt. But was able to push a lot harder than last week.

Went and bought my yoga block cause I not nearly as flexible as those fools on the DVD. Got some more protein for my shakes at Walmart and saved $10. Nice! Found some new dumbbell bars also at Walmart and can return the others I bought and that will save me $15. Double Nice!!

Went out and bought a water cooler for the house. Had to return one I got from Lowes cause after 3 days the water tasted like plastic. Bought this one from the same company that my wife has at work so hopefully NO PLASTIC taste. We will see.

Week 2 Chest/Back/Abs

Nothing but pushups and pullups. That workout exhausted my arms. Didn't want to do it today but I brought it and did at least what I did last week and more in some of the excercises. And I made it through the whole workout. Last week I bonked and had to quit 40 minutes in. Today I changed it up and ate a hour before and it worked great.

Well I am going to share what I ate today if anyone is curious. I eat every 2-3 hours or if I get hungry.

Breakfast - 4 slices turkey bacon. 1 cup skim milk, 1 cup cheerios. - Eat this most mornings
Snack - 3 pieces of string cheese
After Workout - Recovery drink - Tbsp - tang, 2 tbsp - gatorade and 1/2 scoop chocolate whey protien
then within a hour of working out - Protien Shake - 1 cup skim milk with 2 scoops protien

Lunch - A chicken salad - 2 cups lettuce, 1 cup assorted veggies, 3 oz. chicken and 4 tbsp dressing
Snack - protien bar and another protien shake
Dinner - 6 oz chicken or any other lean meat or fish and 2 cups any veggie

That's it, about 2300 calories if I'm lucky usually a bit less. Hard to get as many as I need when I do eat healthy. Feels like all I do it eat.

Kenpo and Week 2 Pics




Kenpo today. For those that don't know that is kickboxing. Wasn't that hard cardio-wise I felt even though it was supposed to be a cardio workout. May be it get harder after I learn all the kicks and punches they are doing and can do it with more fluidity.

Legs/Back/Abs

That was a tough workout. Probably pushed me more cardio wise than anything else. Did better with pullups today too. Forgot to add them up. I will in the future. Little mini bonk towards the end of the workout where I got light headed. Waited too long after I ate to do it. I went out to get a new spring clips for my dumbells bars and it took way too long.

I tried something a little different with my recovery drink after my workout. It is usually powered Tang and powdered Gatorade. Today I added some chocolate flavored to get some protien. That give me the recommended 4 gram carb to 1 gram protein I need. It was awesome. It tasted like a chocolate orange. I love those things. They are hard to find so I usually buy one everytime I see one and eat it that day.

Yoga X

Well, It's official. I'm gay for Yoga. That was awesome. I haven't been this relaxed since me and the wife were in Mexico after we got massages. Anyone who hasn't tried it I suggest you do. Dim the lights, make it quiet and Yoga it up.

My session was 1.5 hours long. I was 30 minutes and was breathing heavily my legs and arms were burning and I thought. An 1 and a half. No f-ing way. But pushed it as hard as I could with out collapsing. Forty five minutes in I was dripping sweat on the mat. Then it switched to balance poses and I pretty much sucked. I held some as long as everyone else did, but with my limited flexibility.

Enough rambling, so the positive of Yoga is its a workout and when you are done you are as relaxed as if you just had a massage.

The negative part is I was so relaxed and how much protien I consume on my low carb diet I had gas midway though the workout that was bad enough it would choke a donkey. I won't go into details but it was BAD.

No Yoga Today

I had to work overnight last night and only got 2 hours of sleep. Then had to go to a Paramedic Refresher class all day, and stay after for another recert. I don't think I have the concentration today for 1.5 hours of Yoga. So I will just do it tomorrow and push all my workouts for this week back a day and use today as a much needed rest day.

So check back tomorrow after I post how terrible my fat ass handled the Yoga. I am excited for it and a little scared. Don't think I am as flexible as I was back in the day.

Anyway, going to bed. Gotta get up on some sleep and be ready to BRING IT for Yoga X!!

PLYO

Did Plyometrics today. That sucked. Basically an hour of jumping around and killing the lower body. Great cardio workout though. That should get easier with time. Diet is still perfect. Going to cook up a bunch of chicken tonight and portion for the weekend.

I am going to go out and buy a water cooler. I am drinking tons of it and will save some cash in the long run with a 5 gallon jug.

Gotta go. I am still dragging butt from the workout and that was done 5 hours ago.

Ab Ripper Day One Done

Did my ab workout. I chose to not finish the chest and back and push it with the Abs. After doing that that workout will definately be a love/hate relationship. I tried to pace myself cause I didn't know what to expect. Next time hell no. I will have to push as hard as I can. Suprisingly the 15 minutes went pretty fast.

Well added some protein shakes today to try and get my calories up. Its hard to take in that many calories when you are eating healthy. I am eating every 2-3 hours just to get it in.

Day 1 done - only 89 to go!

BONK

Got about 6 hours of sleep last night at work and got off at 8am. I got home and toughed out the workout, but I couldn't finish. I bonked. Damnit. Bonking is when your body doesn't have the energy to finish the workout. I think that is what happened. I got so nauseous that I had to stop. I know a little is ok but I got to that Hangover nausea point when you puke in the morning.

So I lasted 40 min into my Chest and Back exercise. Didn't do the Ab workout.

I will do them later today though. I think I bonked cause I didn't take in any nutrients since last night at 730. I will have to have a little something before I workout. People did suggest that, but I thought, Hell I'm tougher than that.

This workout will be sweet. Already looking forward to doing it next week so I can put it down without stopping. Anyway I'll post when I finish the workout later and let you know I ate perfect.

First Day of Diet

Hey first day of the "diet". Couldn't even finish my breakfast.

Two turkey bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches, with 3 more egg whites, and a glass of milk. I had to throw away the 3 other egg whites. Just looking at them made me want to throw up.

Had a bar for a snack, for lunch tuna, celery, cucumbers, and an apple.

Going pretty good. Just will have to work on more healthy recipes for my meats. Tuna and chicken might get boring after a week straight.

But tomorrow starts the first workout. Chest/Back/Abs. I can't wait. 8am tomorrow, Welcome to Hell!!

But that is why I am doing this. So you all come on and check out the site to see my progress, and to see whether I am doing the program.

It's in the mail!

I got P90X ordered now just have to wait 5-7 business days. Damn it!

Well I can get all the equipment I need all lined up. Have to buy a yoga mat and dumbbells. I'll do some research into the nutrition program up the the P90X comes.
